APS has filed a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) application for the Ocotillo Modernization Project with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).
As part of the application, APS evaluates environmental factors such as water use, existing and future land uses at the plant site, cultural/archeological sites and biological resources, plus potential visual and noise impacts from the project. We also document our outreach to neighbors, governing agencies, stakeholders and the general public about the project and record public comment.
The Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee will hold a public hearing to consider the CEC application. The committee will make a recommendation to the ACC, which will issue the ultimate decision on APS's application.
For more information and updates about the committee’s public hearing, check azenergyfuture.com/ocotillo or www.azcc.gov/AZ_Power_Plant/.
