A recent poll conducted by a rooftop solar industry group in Nevada shows the lengths that some in the industry are going to maintain lucrative subsidies, a Forbes contributor wrote recently.
James Taylor took issue with the questions and methodology of a poll commissioned by The Alliance for Solar Choice (TASC). The poll purportedly shows that Nevada voters would be less likely to vote for politicians who do not support expanding net metering in the state.
“The solar power industry claims a new poll it has commissioned shows Nevada voters will punish politicians who don’t expand solar power subsidies and mandates,” Taylor wrote. “Fortunately for American consumers and policymakers, the heavily promoted solar power poll indicates no such thing. Instead, the poll shows how desperate the solar power industry is to ramp up the expensive taxpayer subsidies that are necessary for the industry’s survival.”
