The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) is scheduled this week to consider a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) for the Ocotillo Modernization Project.
The commission's monthly open meeting is Nov. 5-6 at ACC headquarters, 1200 W. Washington St., in Phoenix. A meeting agenda and additional information are posted on azcc.gov.
APS anticipates commissioners will make a decision on the certificate, which is required by Arizona law. The ACC has the authority to approve, deny or modify the CEC.
In September, the Arizona Power Plant and Line Siting Committee approved APS’s CEC application by a vote of 6-0, with one abstention. The certificate issued by the committee authorizes construction of all five generation units planned for the project and includes standard conditions with which APS can comply.
