This weekend, the Arizona Republic ran a profile on Solana Generating Station, soon to be the latest addition to APS’s solar portfolio. The plant is scheduled to come on line later this fall. At 280 megawatts, Solana will produce enough electricity to power about 70,000 homes.
“But the real benefit of Solana is not just its maximum capacity. It’s the fact that unlike other solar plants, APS will be able to dispatch that power not just when the sun is shining, but whenever power is needed.”
